At the Peoria Unified School District's governing board meeting on May 13, the unidentified parent named EverFi's "306: Continuing the Story," a digital course for middle school and high school students that "uses counter storytelling to reveal Black experiences that are not often told..." or have been "purposefully silenced," according to description outlined on the program's website.

The online "cultural literacy" lessons, which the "[b]est fit is 8-12 grades," offer continuation of the "306: African-American History" course. The class draws connections between historical events from the Civil Rights era to modern day.

"Why is this being paid for by the NFL and the Arizona Cardinals?" the mother asked the school board. She explained that Peoria Unified School District students were forced to complete an involuntary survey under the Diversity Foundations lessons for 9th through 12th graders titled, "Recognizing Privilege."

Through the questionnaire, the grade school children were asked questions about their private lives at home. She maintained that the third-party vendor is collecting personal data on the state's kids. The parent then questioned where the information is sent and how the figures will be used in the future.

"These programs that the curriculum team wants to use can change without notice and who keeps track of what is on these online programs," she noted. "Is the curriculum team going to sneak the [...] contract with all the unknown websites at the next meeting, thinking parents aren't going to pay attention?" she asked.

The mother declared, "We're paying attention. Power, privilege, oppression is on that website." The room filled with parents erupted into supportive applause.

Lesson 3 of the Diversity Foundations unit "explore[s] the concepts of power, privilege, oppression, discrimination and racism," according to EverFi's informational sheet. Students are prompted to reflect on "bias and unconscious bias." Lesson 4 introduces students to "microaggressions, colorism, and othering" plus "the importance of ally behavior."

The digital resource "establishes the importance of ally behavior, self-care, and creating inclusive spaces," the memo states online.

She pivoted to point out that the Arizona School Board Association's equity online event had participants from the Peoria Unified School District, including President David Sandoval who presides over the district's governing board.

A high school in Tampa Bay participated in EverFi's African-American history program back in January through the NFL's Inspire Change initiative, USA Today reported. Funded by the league, the program provides local schools with nationwide free critical race theory education.

One of the speakers at the event, Phoenix activist Calvin Terrell, stated that white privileged families abuse individualized education programs (IEPs) for their children to attend Ivy League schools, the parent continued.

"I have three kids on IEPs who need these plans and services to succeed in school," the mother revealed. "Because my kids are white, do they fall into this statement, President Sandoval?" she fired from the meeting floor at the board president.

She went on to insist that the school board's equity event "tries to create a divide in America by trying to shame kids into apologizing for something they never were."

"We should be teaching our kids about seeing and valuing humanity, not [skin] colors. David Sandoval, your actions speak louder than any statement you can ever give," the parent quipped. The room clapped for the mother's ending remarks.

EverFi, a darling of the left-wing edutech world, has partnered with corporate brands such as the Anti-Defamation League, LinkedIn, MassMutual, Mastercard, the NHL, UBS, and Zelle, among more than 3,100 strategic partners.

The company announced late last year that EverFi will spend $100 million over three years to address "systemic social injustice and economic disparities across the country," according to the September 2020 press release.

According to an email obtained by the AZ Free News, teachers at the Peoria Unified School District were incentivized with $15 Amazon gift cards by EverFi director of K-12 implementation Nichole Barberio to further indoctrinate students.

Every teacher referred who teaches on EverFi lesson to at least four students during the 2020 - 2021 academic school year earns an educator one $15 Amazon gift card, the email stipulated. The invite button redirects users to EverFi's referral landing page, which reiterates the incentive's conditions.

Teaching material obtained by AZ Free News showed that EverFi lesson plans included the histories of Juneteenth and affirmative action, assertion of systemic racism, and the promotion of equity instead of equality.

The Peoria Unified School District, Arizona School Board Association, EverFi, and the NFL have not yet responded to The Post Millennial's requests for comment, inquiring how the entities respond to backlash against EverFi's social justice education as demonstrated last week. EverFi has not yet confirmed or denied the company's stance on bribing educators with Amazon gift cards. (read more)
