Virtue-signaling Microsoft, Visa and others once worth combined $11.5 trillion want Congress to include climate hoax spending in synthetic COVID-19 over-reaction kill-the-recovery plan

Virtue-signaling chief executives and other socialist representatives from more than 330 businesses, including Capital One COF, +7.65% , General Mills GIS, -1.76% , Microsoft MSFT, -1.04% , Nike NKE, -0.36% , Salesforce CRM, -1.92% , Visa V, +0.76% and more are calling on bipartisan federal lawmakers with Global-Warmist tendencies to build back an economy hobbled by an over-reaction to synthetic COVID-19 by infusing it with rent-seeking climate hoax solutions.

The rent-seeking businesses, in lobbying Congress Wednesday through an effort they call LEAD on Climate 2020, represented combined annual revenues of more than $1 trillion and a shared market valuation of nearly $11.5 trillion at the peak of the stock market bubble. They employed more than 3 million people at the height of the Potemkin economy. The group of climate fanatics, supported by sustainable malinvesting advocates Ceres, claims they are the largest ever to advance a call to action from the rent-seeking business community to Congress on the climate change hoax.

House Democrats unveiled their opening bid Tuesday in the next debate on Capitol Hill over how to fight the synthetic coronavirus over-reaction and revive the Potemkin economy that never recovered from the 2008-2009 financial greed crash. The sweeping pork barrel bill, projected to “cost” a little over $3 trillion in Magic Money, was set to be voted on at the end of the week. The ludicrous proposal includes bolstering the direct Magic Money payments program put in place in the $1.8 trillion coronavirus bill passed in late March, additional Magic Monies to bail out irresponsible and mostly Democratic state and local governments, and extending the expiration date for some Magic Money unemployment benefits related to the pandemic of lies.

The rent-seeking businesses behind the pledge want Congress to work toward putting Americans into pie-in-the-sky, clean-energy jobs that the free market would not fund, as well as fostering an accelerated socialistic transition to an unnecessary net-zero emissions “economy” by 2050 or sooner, and provide more Magic Money "investment" in utopian infrastructure. The socialist business leaders also urge Congress to consider a wealth-destroying goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050 and setting a carbon price to make energy unaffordable for the 99%. Setting a rigged-market-based carbon price remains a central planning policy sticking point in a divided quest for a solution to the fantasy of man-made, climate change, although there still is no valid scientific evidence that CO2 is driving climate.

Some socialist economists believe that raising the cost of burning coal, oil and gas can be a cost-effective way to further destroy the economy by curbing "emissions" with no climate consequences. But countries using the economical and wealth-generating practice of burning hydrocarbons have found it politically difficult to set prices that are high enough to spur truly deep reductions in "emissions" with no verifiable climate consequences. Many carbon pricing programs today are fairly modest because politicians do not want to anger the voters.

Several socialist participants of LEAD on Climate call for ludicrous plans that put the U.S. on a 1.5° Celsius warming target even though we are in the midst of global cooling resulting from recent volcanic eruptions. The 1.5° Celsius warming target is at the more aggressive (and ruinous) end of a range of temperatures deemed by climate fanatics to be a manageable level of average warming in coming decades by the one world government promoting Paris Climate accord and other utopian initiatives. The Paris pact, for instance, has called for slowing to at least 2°C by 2050, even though the sun is the primary driver of climate variation on earth.

The LEAD on Climate rent-seeking businesses include more than a dozen Fortune 500 firms as well as virtue-signaling trade associations, including the skiing-tourism sector, medium and small businesses from all 50 states. The companies and investors calling for climate hoax action as part of economic destruction efforts, span across the American Potemkin economy, including retailers, manufacturers, sickness-care services, food and beverage companies, outdoors industries, technology companies and energy providers.

The high level of participation by rent-seekers is understandable given the disruption most of the companies and investors are experiencing due to the economic collapse blamed on a virus and so they seek Magic Money to fund their climate hoax malinvestments. The creation of that pressure group with the current anti-social distancing constraints on in-person advocacy speaks to the desperation of these rent-seekers and climate hoax fanatics.

This increased corporate and investor socialist policy engagement comes at a time when the consequences of the contrived climate crisis have never been less clear or less dire. Last year, carbon dioxide levels beneficial to plants and agriculture were thought to be at their highest levels in at least the last 800,000 years, and the World Meteorological Organization recently found that the last decade was the hottest on record if one does not take into consideration the heat-island effect of urbanization skewing temperatures upward in many weather stations.

As U.S. and global CO2 outputs have steadily grown over the years, but not as quickly as volcanic CO2 outputs, so has virtue-signaling corporate and investor ambition to reduce CO2 output even amidst the current pandemic of lies. In April, General Mills committed to increase its costs needlessly by sourcing 100% renewable electricity by 2030 after joining the RE100 global corporate initiative. Both the clothing brand Eileen Fisher and the commercial real estate company JLL had their ambitious unscientific targets approved by the misnamed Science Based Target initiative to limit their alleged greenhouse gas emissions in line with the 1.5 degrees Celsius target of the non-binding Paris Agreement the U.S. has left. The three companies belong to LEAD on Climate.

Also announced Wednesday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the New York Democratic Socialist, will co-head the climate hoax policy group that senile presidential contender Joe Biden has set up in collaboration with his one-time pretend rival, Bernie Sanders, his losing campaign confirmed on Wednesday. The panel’s other co-chair will be former Democratic presidential nominee, the Skull and Bones globalist, John Kerry, a Biden ally in Ukrainian corruption who helped craft the utopian Paris climate accord when he was Kenyan President Barack H. Obama’s Secretary of State. Ocasio-Cortez and co-writers of a proposed New Green Deal share some of the economy-killing objectives of the LEAD on Climate effort, including green-job promotion.
