Trump's Night: The Return of the Chaos Candidate

Donald Trump never liked the nickname. Back when he was a New Yorker and a newly minted Republican and generally considered a political oddity, Jeb Bush branded him on live television. According to the former Florida governor, Trump was “the chaos candidate.”

It fit then, and it still fits now: The first Trump vs. Biden debate marked the return of the chaos candidacy.

Though no one who knew him well expected Trump to change because of a trifling factor such as living in the White House for nearly four years, the incumbent president was in classic form Tuesday night. For 98 minutes, he belittled and bullied and berated both his opponent and the moderator -- so much so that he made the debate painful to watch. But what was roundly condemned may have been the plan.

Trump trails former vice president Joe Biden in the RealClearPolitics national polling average by 6.1 percentage points. Figuring he needed a strong showing to close the gap, the campaign studied every Biden debate since 1972. The strategy they came up with entailed having Trump rely on his improv ability rather than employ a structured game plan.

There were just a handful of goals for Trump, a source familiar with the debate prep told RCP:

Knock Biden off his talking points by answering questions from moderator Chris Wallace of Fox News and then posing another one to his opponent. Force him to own up to the less popular parts of his own record. Push the centrist Democrat to own the policy agenda of those on his left flank.

“The more Joe stutters and stumbles and makes mistakes and says things that just don't resonate or make sense,” the source told RCP the day before the debate, “the more we're winning.”

If that approach wasn’t already apparent, it became obvious within the first few minutes when a discussion about the Supreme Court turned into a question about Obamacare. Trump said that a Biden administration would kick 180 million Americans off of their private health insurance and open the door to “socialized medicine.” Biden balked.

"That is simply a lie," he said.

"Your party wants to go socialist medicine and socialist health care," Trump interrupted.

"The party is me. Right now, I am the Democratic Party," Biden insisted.

"And they’re going to dominate you, Joe. You know that," Trump shot back.

It was a redux of what Republicans have long argued, namely that Biden’s moderation is a sham and that the former vice president is little more than a Trojan horse for more progressive ideologies. (read more)

•Just last week, President Trump signed an Executive Order making it the official policy of the federal government to protect those with pre-existing conditions.

BIDEN: “So the thing that should happen is we should wait. We should wait and see what the outcome of this election is, because that is the only way the American people get to express their view, who they elect as president and who they elect as Vice President.”

FACT: History is on the side of filling the Supreme Court vacancy now, and Joe Biden previously said the President had an obligation to name a nominee, even in an election year.

•There have been 29 prior Supreme Court vacancies in American history during a Presidential election year, and in all cases, the President nominated a Justice.
•17 out of 19 times the Senate has confirmed the President’s Supreme Court nominee in an election year when the President’s party controls the Senate as it does today.
•In 2016, Biden said that he supported confirming a Supreme Court Justice in an election year “even a few months before a presidential election.”

Which Drugs Should Biden Take Pre-Debate?

With the first presidential debate now just hours away, President Trump continues to insist that Joe Biden take a drug test. Trump’s none-too-subtle insinuation is that the former vice president is so mentally frail that he cannot hope to match the vaulting intellect of the 45th president of the United States on the debate stage.

It’s a peculiar form of Trumpian baiting - something the President has probably learned from the world of Mixed Martial Arts - or perhaps the product of a guilty conscience. Trump himself famously sniffed his way through his first debate with Hillary Clinton four years ago, and there’s been plenty of speculation over the years that the President consumes medicinal substances to combat some form of attention-deficit disorder.

Cockburn won’t weigh in on the specifics. But if Biden were to use drugs for tonight’s performance, which ones should he take? Because make no mistake, Biden should absolutely be taking drugs prior to Tuesday’s debate.

Pro athletes all take performance enhancing drugs, after all, and winning a presidential election is at least as important as hitting 40 home runs or making the Pro Bowl, or something.

Report: Joe Biden Has Been Given Tonight’s Debate Questions in Advance

Yet another advantage sought in fear of Biden performing poorly?

Presidential candidate Joe Biden has been given tonight’s debate questions in advance, according to radio host Todd Starnes.

“Word on the street is that @JoeBiden got tonight’s debate questions in advance” tweeted Starnes, citing radio station KXEL 1540’s interview with political operative Jerome Corsi.

If true, this wouldn’t be the first instance of questions being provided to a Democratic candidate before a crucial debate.

In 2017, Democratic operative Donna Brazile admitted that she had exploited her role as a CNN commentator to feed debate questions to Hillary Clinton beforehand.

“[I]n October, a subsequent release of emails revealed that among the many things I did in my role as a Democratic operative and [Democratic National Committee] Vice Chair prior to assuming the interim D.N.C. Chair position was to share potential town hall topics with the Clinton campaign,” said Brazile.

As we highlighted earlier, the Biden campaign appears to be trying to eek out every advantage it can get, perhaps in the fear that the former VP is not up to a 90 minute performance.

Fox News reported that Biden’s team requested a break after every 30 minutes of the debate but that the proposal was rejected by the Trump campaign.

Team Trump also asked that earpieces be checked to ensure that Biden was not being fed lines by his staffers. (read more)

CASH-FOR-VOTES: Ilhan Omar Accused of Leading Illicit Ballot Harvesting Scheme in Minneapolis

These Democrats seem to be brazen cheaters.

Journalist James O’Keefe of Project Veritas has exposed an illicit ballot harvesting scheme in Minneapolis, Minn. allegedly connected to Rep. Ilhan Omar that is putting up cash to secure Democrat votes in November’s general election.

O’Keefe exposed Liban Mohamed, a Democrat activist in Minneapolis, in his exposé for bragging about the number of absentee ballots he had in his car.

“Numbers don’t lie! Numbers don’t lie! You can see my car is full,” Mohamed said in the video.

A different Veritas journalist talked with another foreign-speaking victim of this scheme to confirm that Omar worked with this ballot harvesting team.

“The minute we sign the thing (ballot) for the election. That’s when we get paid,” the foreign-speaking whistleblower said through a translator.

Mohamed explained how cash dominates the process and how Democrats will be using big money to make sure that they have the votes they need to win the election, regardless of the will of the people.

“Money is everything. Money is the king of this world. If you ain’t got money, you should not be here period,” Mohamed said.

Mohamed also explained how the process works in a phone chat with insider Omar Jamal.

“So they (ballot harvesters) request (the ballot) for the elderly?” Jamal asked Mohamed in their native tongues.

“Yes, they (ballot harvesters) request (the ballot) for them (the elderly),” Mohamed responded.

“And it (the ballot) is taken away from them (elderly)?” Jamal asked.

“Yes, it (the ballot) is taken away from them (the elderly),” Mohamed reiterated.

Another whistleblower came forward to explain how the Democrats get ballots from unsuspecting and confused seniors by targeting nursing homes and senior communities where they are isolated from society. (read more)

Last night, James O’Keefe of Project Veritas released a bombshell video indicating that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) may be leading an illicit ballot harvesting scheme intended to influence the results of the upcoming elections in November.

The report from O’Keefe echoes the work of investigative journalist turned Congressional candidate, Laura Loomer. Loomer used to work for Project Veritas before she would go on to become the most banned journalist in history, with Big Tech conspiring to remove her from their monopoly platforms.

City Pages covered Loomer’s investigative work in the most snarky way imaginable at the time, laughing off all concerns about ballot harvesting by Democrats in Minneapolis.

“Many people telling me they saw Somalis being bussed in to vote in Minneapolis,” Loomer wrote in a tweet that has since been wiped from the internet. “I’m investigating.”

The fake news media made light of her concerns.

“Minnesotans wait with bated breath for the outcome of Loomer’s investigation. It’s not often that an investigative journalist with her own T-shirt and coffee cup merch sets her sights on our fair state,” City Pages wrote sardonically.

But, as is usually the case, Loomer has been proven right and her detractors are left with egg on their faces. Other right-wing journalists were keyed into the story as well and are now pointing out how the fake news media hqw ignored the news due to their partisan political agenda.

A Black Lives Matter organizer has been arrested after video showed her driving a car into a crowd of Trump supporters in southern California, injuring two.

Driver Tatiana Turner, 40, of Long Beach, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon following the incident on Saturday in the city of Yorba Linda, about 30 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.

The chaos unfolded as about 250 people gathered, some with a group called Caravan4Justice supporting Black Lives Matter, and others to stage a nearby counter-protest supporting President Donald Trump.

Federal records show that Turner filed a trademark application for Caravan4Justice in July, and a GoFundMe campaign names her as the group’s ‘founder’.

Police confirmed that Turner is believed to be a member of the Caravan4Justice.

It was around 3pm, police say, when a car in the parking lot of the of the Yorba Linda Public Library at 18181 Imperial Highway accelerated into the road and struck at least two individuals.

Yes, a Black Lives Matter activist plowed her car into a crowd of Trump supporters in California.

Can we agree that there are two types of Covid-19?

The first type, is Covid-19 ,”The Virus”, which is a fairly mild infection that most people don’t even realize they’ve contracted. A tiny sliver of the population– that are mainly-older, vulnerable people with underlying health conditions– can develop complications, become seriously ill and die. (CDC-IFR- 0.26%) In other words, Covid is not the Spanish Flu, not the Black Plague and the Genocidal Planetary Killer Virus it was cracked up to be. It kills more people than the annual influenza, but not significantly more.

The second type of Covid-19, is Covid “The Political Contrivance” or, rather, CODENAME: Operation Virus Identification 20 19. This iteration of the Covid phenom relates to the manner in which a modestly-lethal respiratory pathogen has been inflated into a perennial public health crisis in order to implement economic and societal changes that would otherwise be impossible. This is the political side of Covid, which is much more difficult to define since it relates to the ambiguous agenda of powerful elites who are using the infection to conceal their real intentions. Many critics believe that Covid is a vehicle the Davos Crowd is using to launch their authoritarian New World Order. Others think it has more to do with Climate Change, that is, rather than build consensus among the world leaders for mandatory carbon reductions, global mandarins have simply imposed lockdowns that sharply reduce economic activity across-the-board. This, in fact, has lowered emissions significantly, but at great cost to most of humanity. The State's Response To This "Virus" Is Nothing More Than A Weapon Of Mass Submission

Draconian measures by the State against the masses require the cooperation of the masses. This is the essence of political submission, and therefore, it is the foundation of the ruling “elite’s” plan to achieve a complete global economic and total control reset. At this stage of the plot, all is going just as the globalists expected, as the takeover of the human population is well underway.

Logic would dictate that this fake pandemic should be over for good after the new CDC death figures for the U.S. were recently exposed. That report showed that 94% of those said to have died from Covid alone did not die from Covid at all. In fact, the 94% that died who were claimed as Covid deaths had on average 2.6 other co-morbidities evident.

What that means is this entire virus scam was a fraud all along, and is being used as a weapon of submission in order to gain control over the entire population. Lies on top of lies have been used to frighten people into voluntarily destroying their lives in the name of false safety, and now the damage has reached levels that will be almost impossible to overcome at any time in the near or even distant future. One would think that with this ground shattering information, all citizens would be up in arms, but that does not seem to be the case. This is extremely troubling, as without a mass uprising of the people, this horrendous plan will continue to go forward.

It is now time to consider the possible tactics that will be used by the State against all of us, especially those that continue to question, and refuse to comply with the idiocy that is called a coronavirus pandemic. (read more)

A witches' brew of weak leadership, scientific groupthink and the precautionary principle has caused our current crisis.

The way in which the British government decided to announce the latest set of restrictions on social life was something of a back-to-the-future moment. The chief medical officer and chief scientific officer were wheeled out to make dire predictions, paving the way for the prime minister to emerge from his bunker to tell us what we must do, based on the science, for our own safety.

The first time around, back in March, the tone felt about right. There was a lot we did not know about the virus, there were worrying pictures of what might be about to happen, and the idea of a short intense shutdown to prevent the NHS from being overwhelmed by a surge of serious cases seemed reasonable.

But a great deal has changed since then. We now know a lot about the

the virus and what it has been doing, and we know that the seriousness of the disease – in population terms – is much less than was originally feared. We know that the pictures we saw on our televisions were highly selected, in the way that disaster reporting usually is. We know that the extreme predictions of disaster that did so much to frighten people in March were based on catastrophist extrapolations of models with biologically naive assumptions, models that have been shown to be wrong many times before.

So this time the tone seemed wrong. The scientific talking heads again presented a one-sided, extreme version of what might be about to happen, untempered by even an acknowledgement of the many possible alternative interpretations of the data, and without deigning to take questions. (read more)

Trump Again Calls For Pre-Debate 'Drug Test' Of "Sleepy Joe"

President Trump has again pointed attention to Joe Biden's apparent slowness from ageing, or even the possibility of dementia, ahead of Tuesday night's debate, calling on Biden to agree to take a 'test'.

In a Sunday morning tweet Trump specifically demanded "a Drug Test of Sleepy Joe Biden prior to, or after, the Debate on Tuesday night" which the president said he would undergo as well. In the past the demands have been focused on mental fitness tests, however.

Trump suggested that given prior instances of the seeming inability of Biden to speak well and coherently in fielding random media questions (especially when there's no teleprompter), those instances where he speaks articulately must be due to drugs. (read more)

A tape has surfaced of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden bizarrely claiming that he “started” at a historically black college in speaking to supporters in South Carolina during the primary. Biden has never made any mention of going to Delaware State University and it is not clear why the many reporters in attendance at the event did not ask when he attended a HBCU. Indeed, he would be the first president to claim such a distinction. He might also have been inartfully referencing his start as a politician. BLM Stealth-Edits Website Amid Marxist Blowback, Plunge In Americans' Support

A new Associated Press poll finds that there has been a massive 15 point swing and that most Americans are now hostile to Black Lives Matter protests.

As Summit News' Paul Joseph Watson notes, the figures are also interesting when broken down along racial lines.

Just 35% of white Americans approve of the protests, down from 53% back in June. Just Latinos, 31% approve, compared with 44% in June.

Support for BLM amongst African-Americans has also dropped from 81% to 63%.

As Chris Menahan notes, “AP-NORC chose to exclude Latinos from their chart to make it seem like this is just a Black vs White thing.”

Support for BLM amongst Republicans has also dropped from 29% to 9%. Meanwhile, 70% of Democrats still approve of the protests, while significantly more people on both sides of the political spectrum believe the demonstrations to be “mostly or all violent.”

The survey also finds that belief in the central underpinning narrative pushed by BLM, that blacks are being indiscriminately targeted by police, is being eroded.

The numbers are clear – supporting Black Lives Matter is a losing election issue.

Only when Democrats began to realize that a few weeks ago did they finally denounce the bedlam that has plagued American streets since the end of May.

All of which may explain why BLM scrubbed its “what we believe” page from the organization’s website.

Trump to nominate Amy Coney Barrett to US Supreme Court: reports

President Trump on Friday was leaning toward nominating federal appeals court Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the US Supreme Court, according to reports citing sources familiar with the process.

The White House has indicated in conversations that Barrett was Trump’s intended choice to replace the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg but cautioned that he could still change his mind, the sources told CNN.

Barrett was spotted Friday at her home in South Bend, Ind., but it’s unclear if she’s aware of Trump’s intentions, CNN said. The New York Times also reported Trump had made Coney Barrett his choice.

Harvard Survey: Only 7% Of Incoming Students Identify As Conservative

We have been discussing the rising intolerance for conservative, libertarian, and Republican students and faculty on campuses across the country. Faculties rarely hire conservative or libertarian professors; journals rarely published studies from conservative authors. As the number of conservative faculty members diminish or disappear on faculties, schools appear to be carrying out the same bias in student admissions. The Harvard Crimson has finished its annual survey of the incoming class of students and found that the already small population of conservative and Republican students has been cut by as much as half.

The Crimson survey covered over 76 percent of the Harvard College Class of 2024 and found that the class contained 72.4 percent who self-identify as either “very liberal” or “somewhat liberal.” Only 7.4 percent self-identify as “very conservative” or “somewhat conservative.” Likewise, 88.9 percent view President Donald Trump as strongly or somewhat unfavorable with 80.7 percent falling in the “strongly unfavorable” category. Only 4.7 percent view Trump “somewhat” or “strongly” favorable.

Note that over 40 percent of this country view Trump favorably and the vast majority view themselves as holding either conservative or moderate views. It is demonstrably absurd to argue that this virtual absence of conservative students is somehow the result of accident and not design. (read more)

Wisconsin Authorities Investigate Absentee Ballots Found In Ditch, As FBI Probes Discarded Pro-Trump Ballots In PA

Police in the swing-state of Wisconsin are investigating how three trays of mail which included absentee ballots ended up in a ditch, after the mail was found at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning near a highway before it was immediately turned over to the US Postal Service, according to Fox 11.

"The United States Postal Inspection Service immediately began investigating and we reserve further comment on this matter until that is complete," said USPS spokesman Bob Sheehan in a statement. (read more)

A new report from the United States Senate’s Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs (HSGAC) and the Committee on Finance details a series of highly suspicious financial dealings of Hunter Biden, the younger son of Joe Biden. The younger Biden has already become an albatross for his father’s campaign on account of his sketchy business dealings in Ukraine, in which he received millions from an oligarch-controlled oil company to serve on the board despite having no experience in the energy industry.

The Committee’s report also reveals that Biden’s Burisma employment was flagged as “very awkward” for American diplomatic officials seeking to encourage Ukraine to root out the post-Soviet era corruption pervasive in many sectors of the country’s economy.

At some point, in connections to his “duties” with Burisma, Hunter Biden received a $3.5 million wire transfer from Elena Baturina, the wife of the former mayor of Moscow. It’s unclear why the payment was made/

Perhaps most shockingly, the committee details payments made by the younger Biden to nationals of Russia or other Eastern European countries, who were described as associates of an “Eastern European prostitution or human trafficking ring.” (read more)

Is evidence masks don’t work being purged from the internet?

At least two studies have been removed from websites, with very little explanation given.

The dentistry journal Oral Health Group has removed a research paper from its website which found masks do not work to halt the spread of disease. They claim the paper is “no longer relevant in the current climate”.

The article – “Why Face Masks Don’t Work: A Revealing Review” – has been used as a source before by us before (see here), and was a great collation of all the research studies done on the effectiveness of masks as a disease prevention tool. In general it found the evidence suggested masks have little to no value as infection preventatives.

The author, John Hardie (BDS, MSc, PhD, FRCDC), is a 30-year veteran of dental practice, specialising in infection control. The paper had over 30 references and sources from academic journals and peer-reviewed studies.

It’s hard to say exactly when the article was taken down, but the Wayback Machine shows it to be intact on 25th of June, simply missing from July 2nd-9th, and replaced with the current statement on July 10th.

Trump Says Supreme Court Will Decide The Election, Needs A Ninth Justice

Over the weekend, in the aftermath of Ruth Bader GInsburg's death, we said that the "worst case scenario" for markets - a contested election - had become even more complicated as it now appeared that the US was heading into the most controversial election since Gore vs Bush with a SCOTUS that could end up deadlocked with a 4-4 vote should the election outcome escalate to the Supreme Court.

It appears that the president agrees, because moments ago President Trump also predicted that the U.S. Supreme Court will decide the outcome of the November election and argued the Senate should confirm his nominee - who we already know will be a conservative woman - to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg to break any tie.

Trump said that "I think this will end up in the Supreme Court and I think it’s very important to have nine justices." (read more)

Joe Biden appeared visibly rattled and agitated when asked by reporters on Wednesday whether his role as vice president in charge of Ukraine foreign policy presented a conflict of interest while Hunter sat on the board of Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings.

“It’s not a conflict of interest! There’s been no indication of any conflict of interest, from Ukraine or anywhere else. Period!” Biden snapped.

“I’m not gonna – I’m not gonna respond to that,” Biden continued before wagging his finger at the press.

“Let’s focus on the problem! Focus on this man!” he barked, referring to President Trump. “What he’s doing, that no president has ever done! No president!”

Herd immunity to COVID-19 and pre-existing immune responses

I showed in my May 10th article Why herd immunity to COVID-19 is reached much earlier than thought that inhomogeneity within a population in the susceptibility and in the social-connectivity related infectivity of individuals would reduce, in my view probably very substantially, the herd immunity threshold (HIT), beyond which an epidemic goes into retreat. I opined, based on my modelling, that the HIT probably lay somewhere between 7% and 24%, and that evidence from Stockholm County suggested it was around 17% there, and had been reached.

It is pleasing to report that the evidence for heterogeneity of susceptibility across the population, arising from variability in both social connectivity and biological susceptibility, has continued to increase. Not least, there have been a number of further papers reporting pre-existing cross-reactive T-cells in a substantial proportion of people, which as I discussed in my July 27th article is likely be a key reason for heterogeneity in biological susceptibility. Mainstream journals are now starting to acknowledge that these factors are significant, with the implication that the herd immunity threshold (HIT) can be expected to be substantially lower than that often quoted by scientists close to governments. Unfortunately, in the UK at least, there is little sign as yet that those scientific advisors are prepared to recognise these facts.

In First Post-RBG Test, GOP Will Ask Supreme Court To Limit Pennsylvania Mail Voting

In what looks to be the first major test of the new post-RBG iteration of the Supreme Court, which could soon have a 6-3 conservative majority, the GOP is planning to ask SCOTUS to review a major PA state court decision that extended the due date for mail-in ballots in a critical battleground state.

The news was first reported by the Hill, but the party's intentions were actually revealed in a set of court documents published overnight. The PA Supreme Court decision was handed down last week. Under the ruling, PA must accept ballots postmarked by Election Day, so long as they arrive within three days.

Ginsburg's death leaves SCOTUS with a 5-3 conservative majority: However, both Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Neil Gorsuch have, in the past, broken with their fellow conservatives on decisions ranging from health-care to immigration. As Dems cry about the court moving to curtail voting rights, it's important to remember nobody knows how a justice will rule on any given issue until a case has been heard. Their past rulings are merely a guide.

With the expectation being that Ginsburg's replacement will be installed and sworn in before the court hears this ruling (Republicans are shooting to wrap up the confirmation votes next week after Trump announces his final decision on Saturday), it will be a test more broadly of where the conservative-dominated court stands on voting rights and access - issues that Democrats are trying to elevate. Supreme Court Contender Amy Coney Barrett Visits White House as Trump Prepares to Announce Pick

She’s reportedly the frontrunner.

Judge Amy Coney Barrett visited the White House on Monday, as President Donald Trump zeroes in on selecting a nominee to fill the vacant seat on the US Supreme Court.

Barrett is reportedly a front-runner for the judicial nomination. She’s a generally conservative judge, with a staunch pro-life record. Her track record on immigration law issues is generally conservative.

Barrett currently serves as a circuit judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has advised President Trump that she is his preferred candidate for the seat on the court.

President Trump had confirmed that he plans to nominate a woman to fill the seat of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, who died of complications from pancreatic cancer on Friday.

Democrats have launched a full-fledged fit urging President Trump to give them a break and decline to nominate a conservative justice, but they won’t be so lucky. Republican Senators and President Trump have rallied around the notion of appointing a justice before the November election, fulfilling their constitutional responsibilities.

Trump confirmed that he would be revealing the identity of his judicial nominee on Friday or Saturday, taking a few extra days to vet candidates. Florida Judge Barbara Lagoa is reportedly another candidate being considered for the nomination. (read more)

The Moral Case for Reopening Schools—Without Masks

Achieving herd immunity in this pandemic should be society’s goal right now.

If you’re a public-minded student or teacher committed to reducing the death toll from Covid-19, what is the morally correct way to behave?

According to the epidemiologist Sunetra Gupta, you should do just about the opposite of what’s being preached by college presidents, teachers’ unions, political leaders, and the scientific and media establishment. Unless you’re elderly or particularly vulnerable, you shouldn’t be wearing a mask all day, or shaming others for going unmasked. You should be careful not to endanger the vulnerable, but otherwise you should be exposing yourself to the virus in order to promote herd immunity.

Gupta, 55, wants to teach her classes at Oxford in person, without a mask, and she is appalled at her colleagues’ reluctance to go back to the classroom.

“It’s such a disservice to this generation of students,” she says. “Teachers and students who are vulnerable should have the option to go online, but for the rest of us this virus is no bigger than other risks we take in daily life. It’s not rational, and certainly not communitarian, to avoid being infected with a pathogen that carries such a low risk to you when there’s a high benefit to the community by helping to create herd immunity.” (read more)

In Stunning Reversal, CDC Says It Published New Guidance On Risks Of 'Airborne' COVID-19 "In Error"

After publishing guidance warning about the serious risks of "airborne" infection associated with SARS-CoV-2, the CDC just seriously harmed its own credibility by acknowledging Monday that it had posted the new guidance "in error", following a pressure campaign from the WHO.

Scientists have been gathering evidence that the novel coronavirus plaguing the world spreads via aerosol particles practically since it first emerged, and back in July, a group of 200 scientists sent a letter to the WHO urging the international public health agency to change its guidance on the spread of the disease. The problem scientists argued is that the WHO hasn't updated its views to incorporate new research showing that aerosol spread is a much greater threat than touching contaminated surfaces, or via large droplets spread by close contact between individuals.

Yet, the WHO has refused these overtures, and this week it successfully convinced the CDC to do the same.

After the WHO announced earlier that it had reached out to the CDC over the guidance change, the agency informed American media outlets that a "draft version" of the guidance had been "posted in error.".(read more)

Why Amy Coney Barrett is hands-down best pick to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Picture a female jurist who has consistently defied social expectations imposed on women and whose legal thinking is closely bound up with her faith. No, I’m not talking about Amy Coney Barrett, reported to top President Trump’s list of candidates to fill the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat. I’m talking about Ginsburg herself.

Ginsburg believed fervently that conventional expectations shouldn’t hinder women as they seek their full, fair share of public life. Nor was she shy about how her Jewish faith shaped her judicial mind. In an essay for the American Jewish Committee published in 1993, she wrote: “Laws as protectors of the oppressed, the poor, the loner, is evident in the work of my Jewish predecessors. . . . The biblical command ‘Justice, justice shalt thou pursue’ is a strand that ties them together.”

By those criteria, Barrett would make a most worthy successor to RBG. In nominating the 48-year-old Louisianian, the president would present the nation with an inspiring vision of what it means to be an American woman in 2020 — one that could by turns surprise and captivate the suburban women Trump is keen to court while also delivering for the GOP base.

“Amy represents an opportunity to showcase a generationally brilliant, special intellect — who also is a mom,” says O. Carter Snead, Barrett’s longtime faculty colleague at the Notre Dame law school, where Barrett also received her law degree.

Her rare combination of hyper-intelligence and humility is a matter of bipartisan consensus. “The smartest person in the room and also the most humble” was how Snead and two other sources intimately familiar with Barrett described her, echoing each other almost verbatim.

Harvard Law School prof Noah Feldman — a liberal who testified before Congress in favor of impeaching the president — hailed her as “a truly brilliant lawyer” in a 2018 column. Feldman should know. He and Barrett were members of the same class of Supreme Court clerks in 1998.

“She was one of the two best lawyers” of the 40 clerks “and arguably the single best.” Feldman concluded: “She was legally prepared enough to go on the court 20 years ago.” (read more)

The University of Chicago’s English department is this year only admitting PhD students in ‘Black studies’.

In the latest instance of illiberal academic wokery, the English department of the University of Chicago – a department that has already firmly established itself as, well, illiberally woke – has declared that in 2020-2021 it will be admitting only PhD students (five in all) who will pursue scholarship in ‘Black studies’.

That this brouhaha has arisen at the University of Chicago is seemingly surprising. No university in the world has historically been more committed to the principles of academic freedom and of freedom of expression than Chicago, and no university has such a storied heritage of scrutinising and upending the conventional wisdom and the shibboleths dominating higher education. From its founding in 1890 the university defined itself by its culture of fierce intellectuality, a culture characterised by relentless inquiry and robust debate. The university has recognised that such an environment demands protecting its faculty and students so that they can explore and develop the most unpopular ideas untrammelled. As Hanna Holborn Gray, a professor of history, emeritus, and the former president of Chicago, explained the university’s guiding principle: ‘Education should not be intended to make people comfortable, it is meant to make them think. Universities should be expected to provide the conditions within which hard thought, and therefore strong disagreement, independent judgment, and the questioning of stubborn assumptions, can flourish in an environment of the greatest freedom.’

To nurture and sustain that intellectually free environment, Chicago long ago recognised that it must commit itself and its constituent bodies – its departments, institutes and professional schools – to neutrality on political, social and moral issues, regardless of how right and settled the response to those issues might appear. So, it appears the War on Populism is building toward an exciting climax. All the proper pieces are in place for a Class-A GloboCap color revolution, and maybe even civil war. "This Is Ludicrous" - Newt Gingrich Questions 'The Soros Cover Up'

Americans can’t let Twitter noise overwhelm political reality...

I have been watching a truly curious phenomenon over the past few days.

It seems there is suddenly a movement in media to silence anyone who speaks out against George Soros - and, specifically, his funding of radical prosecutors seeking to change the criminal justice system by simply ignoring certain crimes.

This happened to me personally this week while I was being interviewed on Fox’s Outnumbered. When I brought up Soros’s plan to get pro-criminal, anti-police prosecutors elected across the country, two of the show’s participants interrupted me and forcefully asserted that Soros was not involved.

Host Harris Faulkner, it seemed, was stunned by the interruptions, and did her part to move the show forward after some awkward silence. The next day, she addressed the strange moment during the show and condemned censorship.

Immediately after the show, Twitter and other social media went crazy. People were alleging that any criticism of Soros’s political involvement is automatically false, anti-Semitic, or both.

This is ludicrous.

Soros’s plan to elect these prosecutors has been well documented already - and it has nothing to do with his spiritual or ethnic background. The Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, Politico, USA Today, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, the Associated Press, CBS, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel - even Fox News itself, among others, have all thoroughly reported on it.

There are plenty of specific examples of Soros’s work in action.

Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot, who campaigned on the promise that he would not prosecute a host of crimes—including thefts—admitted his campaign was largely funded through Soros or his groups. He has been so dismissive of crime and police that Texas Governor Greg Abbott has had to send in the Texas State Patrol to police large swaths of Dallas.

Soros gave $333,000 to the Safety and Justice PAC in 2016 to support then-Cook County District Attorney candidate Kim Foxx in Illinois—who is currently presiding over terrible violence and mayhem in Chicago, where murders are twice what they were in 2019.

Soros and his organizations spent $1.7 million to help get Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner elected in 2018. Before being elected, Krasner earned a name for himself by suing the Philadelphia Police Department 75 times. Since he took office, dozens of experienced prosecutors have either been fired or resigned. Criminal prosecutions have plummeted and crime has risen. Philadelphia now has the second-highest murder rate among large cities in the country.

Former Hugo Chavez advisor and current San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin was also funded by Soros and his groups. Boudin has called prison “an act of violence” and has refused to prosecute a slew of illegal acts, from public urination to the public solicitation of sex, which he deems to be “quality of life crimes.” By the way, Boudin is the foster child of Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, of terrorist group Weather Underground fame. His birth parents were convicted and imprisoned for their involvement in an armed robbery-turned-homicide.

One of Soros’s favored PACs spent $402,000 to support a failed San Diego County District Attorney bid by Geneviéve Jones-Wright.

In 2016, a Soros-funded super PAC donated $107,000 to benefit Raul Torrez in his Bernalillo County District Attorney primary—which he won by a 2-to-1 margin. In fact, Soros’s huge funding prompted the Republican running to bow out because it was just too expensive to run against Torrez.

Soros-backed George Gascon is currently challenging Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey, who has been targeted and systematically harassed by Black Lives Matter supporters.

I’m not overly surprised to see the Twitter mob embrace a sudden, near-universal denial of these facts. I am alarmed to see that the force of this groupthink on social media appears to be strongly influencing professional media.

I think the heart of this mass denial is that Democrats and the Left are watching the terrible human cost of their misguided, pro-criminal, anti-police justice policies, and they are beginning to worry that the American people will realize who is responsible for them. (read more)

Critical Race Theory in American Classrooms

The radical curriculum may already be at a public school near you.

Two weeks ago, President Trump issued an executive order to root out critical race theory “trainings” from federal government agencies. Russell Vought, director of the Office of Management and Budget, explained that “these types of ‘trainings’ not only run counter to the fundamental beliefs for which our Nation has stood since its inception, but they also engender division and resentment within the Federal workforce.”

CNN anchor Brian Stelter credited City Journal contributing editor Christopher Rufo for bringing this issue to the administration’s attention through his investigative journalism, featured prominently on Tucker Carlson Tonight. Working with whistleblowers, Rufo documented that NASA spent half a million dollars on “power and privilege sexual education workshops,” that the FBI was holding weekly “intersectionality” workshops, and that Sandia National Laboratories, which designs America’s nuclear weapons, held a three-day reeducation camp to deconstruct “white male culture.”

Cancelling these conferences, workshops, and seminars is an overdue and salutary step, but a more formidable task lies ahead: rooting out identity-politics propaganda from America’s public schools.

Exposing the problem is the easy part. Some school districts have become proud indoctrination factories. Take just one example, featured yesterday on Tucker Carlson’s show: the Buffalo Public Schools’ (BPS) Black Lives Matter (BLM) curriculum.

The curriculum takes as a starting point that the purpose of American public education is to recruit students into the BLM movement. The first lesson plan for BPS’s “First Days of School” sequence for second-, third-, and fourth-graders asks the “essential question”: “What is the Black Lives Matter Movement and what is our role in it?” The second lesson, titled “Do Black Lives Matter in America?” states as its objective that “students will be able to understand the need for the Black Lives Matter Movement.”

Despite months of nonstop commercial endorsement by some of the largest corporations in the United States, public opinion on BLM remains divided, as many Americans are uneasy about the more extreme elements of the movement’s platform. But BPS is teaching BLM’s most radical idea, telling fifth-grade students: “We are committed to disrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure.” At the end of that lesson, students are asked: “What do you think about our society being organized into separate, nuclear family units?”

After second-graders read “The Rooster Who Would Not Be Quiet,” they are directed to write “pledge cards” vowing to speak up when they see injustice and then scripted to discuss “Colin Kaepernick who refused to be silent about discrimination against Black people.”

Lesson objectives for fifth- and sixth-grade students include “identify misconceptions about Christopher Columbus” and “explain why the US should celebrate Indigenous People’s Day.” Seventh- and eighth-grade students receive a lesson titled “Think About It George Washington: The Beginnings of 273 Years of Hypocrisy in America.” (read more)

Covid-19 and the false positive trap

Imagine a world where Covid-19 has been eliminated. To be certain this is true, the government conducts regular tests at random. The number of positive results should be zero, right? Wrong. There will always be a proportion of cases tested that come back with a false positive test result. Thankfully, for Covid-19, the false positive rate is less than one per cent of tests done. But it is not zero. It will be impossible for us to ever reach zero. Why? Because Covid-19 cannot be eliminated, even if it is likely to evolve to be more benign and become a seasonal problem like influenza.

Coronaviruses are, after all, seasonal, and as winter approaches we can expect more outbreaks of genuine Covid-19. In the meantime, understanding what the data will look like when Covid-19 is at minimal levels is critical to identifying real outbreaks in the noise (and distinguish these from false positives). As we move forward with this disease, we need to clearly understand where the risk is real and where the risk is almost non-existent, to prevent unnecessary harm from unnecessary interventions.

One of the problems we encounter here is the false positive rate. Put simply, the more tests, the greater the absolute number of false positives. (read more)

Are we becoming immune to the vaccine message?

Much hope is being pinned to a vaccine as our route out of this Covid nightmare. But even if one is developed, would enough of the population be willing to take it? Amidst a growing movement of ‘vaccine scepticism’ online, there are signs that many people would take a lot of convincing to get themselves inoculated.

In New Zealand, one in ten people would refuse a Covid-19 vaccine. In Belgium, 30 per cent of people are either sceptical about a vaccine or would refuse one; and in the USA, fewer than half would get the jab. In a worldwide survey carried out by the World Economic Forum, 29 per cent of those who didn’t want a vaccine were not convinced it would work.

Here in the UK, the picture is much the same: a survey of 5,000 parents last month found that around 45 per cent would not have their child vaccinated against Covid-19, with many citing vaccine safety as the concern. Surveys don’t always give a full picture, of course, but they at least give a snapshot of the mood. And there are worrying signs that developing a Covid vaccine might not be enough in the fight against this disease.

The trend, rather than a snapshot, in how receptive people are to a vaccine is just as important. Professor Heidi Larson, at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, observed that the number of people in the UK who are unwilling to take a Covid-19 vaccine has risen around three-fold from March to June this year. Prior to the pandemic, her separate research published this month showed that confidence in the UK for vaccines had actually been on the upward trend. So what is causing this rise in scepticism about a Covid vaccine?

The anti-vaccination movement – which has existed in some form since vaccines first began – can shoulder some of the responsibility. But the speed with which the likes of Google, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter are reacting to anti-vaccine messages means that their message is less likely to reach the general public.

What is more likely, and what professor Larson alluded to in a press conference, is that ‘People are constantly weighing up the imminent threat of the disease with the apparent risk of the vaccine’. This risk-benefit equilibrium underlines the basic principle to which a person consents to medical interventions. (read more)

Plantation Field Eventing doomed because of USEA's ridiculous political correctness gone overboard

UNIONVILLE, Pa.--Following the lead of Eventing Nation, U.S. Eventing Association has condemned the name Plantation Field as a racial slur, taking political correctness to a new and ridiculous high.

The property along Route 82 in Unionville has been in the ownership of the Plunkett Stewart, Hannum and Walker families for generations, and about 80 years ago, a Boy Scout troop approached the Stewart family, saying it would like to do something to earn a merit badge, and asking if it could plant trees on the property.

Trees were planted in the field and the name Plantation Field was born.

Although not technically disallowing Plantation Field to hold events, refusing to use the name, choosing instead to call it P Field, makes it sound like using the N word, thus forever tying the Stewart, Hannum and Walker families to slavery.

To protect his families' names, Plantation Field owner Cuyler Walker has terminated eventing's lease on the property.

SO NOW, because of a couple of voices on the blog Eventing Nation, USEA and the USEF have caved in to over-the-top political correctness.

What's next?

Will the name cotton swabs will have to be changed because blacks picked cotton?

Major eventing and driving events are held at Charlotte Weber's Live Oak Plantation.

Will the Webers have to change the name of their property to appease Eventing Nation's political correctness gone overboard?

Beginning in June, Eventing Nation sent a series of letters and emails basically demanding Plantation Filed change its name, never opening a discussion or finding out the background of the name.

Reportedly, originally USEA's board approved the name Plantation Filed but recently caved to Eventing Nation, refusing to use the name in reporting its events.

Feeling that the racial slur that USEA attached to the name is inescapable in the future and unwilling to change a name that has been a proud part of the family for generations, the lease for Eventing was terminated by Cuyler Walker on Monday, Sept. 14.

The Plantation Field International Event, Sept. 17-20, will be the final eventing competition to be held on the property, a very sad event for eventers of every level, as Plantation Field has hosted events of every levels for years.

If all riders got together and had their sponsors to stop advertising on Eventing Nation, perhaps a discussion to allow the name Platation Field could be initiated, thus allowing one of sport's largest supporters to continue.

Olympic medalists Phillip Dutton and Boyd Martin are both on the board of directors of Plantation Field.

"It's horrible," said Martin. "So many in the community have gotten behind this event. Plantation Field has donated so much to worthy causes."

One of Plantation Field's beneficiaries is Work to Ride, an inner city group that promotes riding for blacks.

"This is a setback for sports in this region." said Martin. "I hope there is some way to keep this great event going. It would be one thing if the Klu Klux Klan had been there, or slaves had worked this property. But Plantation Field had nothing to do with that. Instead, the name comes from a noble, special reward to a boy scout group."

"We're all devastated," said Dutton. "Cuyler donated the land to Plantation Field eventing. He didn't sign on for this."

"All of this could have been handled differently," said Dutton. "People should have sat down together to discuss it instead of just sending letters and emails." (read more)

Unusual Features of the SARS-CoV-2 Genome Suggesting Sophisticated Laboratory Modification Rather Than Natural Evolution and Delineation of Its Probable Synthetic Route

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 has led to over 910,000 deaths worldwide and unprecedented decimation of the global economy. Despite its tremendous impact, the origin of SARS-CoV-2 has remained mysterious and controversial. The natural origin theory, although widely accepted, lacks substantial support. The alternative theory that the virus may have come from a research laboratory is, however, strictly censored on peer-reviewed scientific journals. Nonetheless, SARS-CoV-2 shows biological characteristics that are inconsistent with a naturally occurring, zoonotic virus. In this report, we describe the genomic, structural, medical, and literature evidence, which, when considered together, strongly contradicts the natural origin theory. The evidence shows that SARS-CoV-2 should be a laboratory product created by using bat coronaviruses ZC45 and/or ZXC21 as a template and/or backbone. Building upon the evidence, we further postulate a synthetic route for SARS-CoV-2, demonstrating that the laboratory-creation of this coronavirus is convenient and can be accomplished in approximately six months. Our work emphasizes the need for an independent investigation into the relevant research laboratories. It also argues for a critical look into certain recently published data, which, albeit problematic, was used to support and claim a natural origin of SARS-CoV-2. From a public health perspective, these actions are necessary as knowledge of the origin of SARS-CoV-2 and of how the virus entered the human population are of pivotal importance in the fundamental control of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as in preventing similar, future pandemics. Facebook Censors Tucker Carlson's Interview With "Rogue" Chinese Scientist

After "rogue" Chinese scientist Dr. Li-Meng Yan was silenced by Twitter yesterday over her claims that the coronavirs was "created in a lab", Tucker Carlson had her on his show last night to try and give her message - which has been condemned as fraudulent by the press - a broader airing.

After telling Tucker and his audience that the CCP is trying to "disappear" her, Dr. Mong said SARS-CoV-2 was a "frankenvirus" designed to target humans, and that it was "intentionally released."

"It could never comes from nature," she said, at one point, referring to COVID-19. Of course, the mainstream press reports that there's no evidence to suggest that the virus was cooked up in a lab. They insist that science has established the "official story" (zoonotic transmission, the same route most deadly viruses attack humans), and that anything questioning that narrative is dangerous propaganda released by foreign adversaries and Trump-aligned media.

After Tucker's social media managers shared a clip from Tuesday night's show, however, Facebook immediately jumped on the censorship bandwagon, blocking the clip and imposing a label reading "false info" (read more)
