PLAGIARISM FILES V

DEAR PLAGIARISM HUNTERS,
May I suggest you start with low hanging fruit. Look through "academic"
papers in the fake disciplines of "grievance studies," i.e. black studies,
ethnic studies, gender studies, queer studies, women's studies.
Those of you unaccustomed to such garbage will have to put on
your Derrida & Foucault special decoder glasses.

1/
There's an element of @realchrisrufo's strategy no one has picked up on yet. It's this:

Almost nobody outside universities reads academic papers, so the papers radical activist professors write in which they defend absurd ideas don't get read by the general public.

So...

2/
Leftist acadenics are free to use academic journals to advance their social and political goals in the academy and no one notices because no one outside the academy reads it.

This dynamic allows leftist profs to make absurd claims on behalf of leftist dogma and pay no price.

3/
Since no one outside academia reads these journals, activist profs could claim truth does not exist, everything is about power, men can become women, and other such wild claims, and the general public was unaware that academia had been hijacked by a political agenda.

But....

4/
Now @realchrisrufo has started a plagiarism war in academia. And you [know] what that means?

It means people are now looking for plagiarism in academia, and in order to do find plagiarism guess what they are going to have to do?

That's right...they have to read academic journals.

5/
And when they read those journals they are going to find paper after paper denying objective truth, papers claiming racial identity matters more than facts, papers that claim lived experience is more important than evidence, and papers claiming children can pick their gender.

6/
What @realchrisrufo has done by starting the plagiarism wars is to get people outside academia to actually READ all of the insane nonsense that's being produced by activist professors.

Now regular people, even those who hate Rufo, will be forced to confront the fact...

7/
that the universities have been hijacked by activists who are using the universities as a vehicle to advance the political and social goal of the left.

It's brilliant.

@realchrisrufo has figured out how to out people in a position where they HAVE to read the papers....

8/
And when they do they will quickly see that he was telling the truth about political corruption in our academic institutions.

PLAGIARISM FILES IV

Gay's body of academic work was notably thin to begin with and thus that record begs the question: Did she ever really do anything to merit being a professor at all, never mind Harvard's President, or even to hold an advanced degree of any kind?  On exactly what basis, may I ask, was she first admitted to Harvard's graduate program?  Can her original admission be objectively justified or does the issue go back
even further than we now have in evidence?

I don't know that answer either -- but what I do know is that every degree Harvard has issued at least from 1998 forward when she got her PhD cannot be reasonably believed to have been honestly earned, and thus until Harvard can prove at what point this practice became tolerated and give us a hard cut-off date we must presume it goes back even further than that.

It would appear the Trustees and other members of the faculty do not appreciate that essentially two decades of Harvard degrees are now reasonably considered worthless by anyone in industry or anywhere else -- and that on a forward basis nobody can trust the process of education there.  Does that not rise to an existential threat in that it impugns the value of every credential issued by
Harvard and thus the very
existence of the institution?

Harvard, Gay, Ackman And The Bottom Line

FIRST ON FOX — Harvard University President Claudine Gay resigned on Tuesday — marking a cataclysmic failure of the leftist orthodoxy that has consumed higher education in recent decades, said two leading academics.

"What we see here is an example of the final corruption of our most elite institutions," former U.S. Department of Education Secretary William Bennett told Fox News Digital.

Except... she didn't resign.

She's still a faculty member and will likely still keep her near-million dollar a year salary, and of course benefits.

This, despite there being evidence that her alleged "academic work" was riven through with plagiarism, an offense that often leads scholars in all areas of study to either fail a class, be suspended or even expelled -- and always to have such as a permanent brand on their academic record.  Such "honor violations" are of the most-serious sort in academic pursuits -- except, of course, if the point of your presence wasn't your scholarship.

That's the real damage here.

There's no easy way to fix this when you get down to it, and what drew attention to the problem is orthogonal to the issue itself.  Yes, she and the other two made statements in testimony on Capitol Hill that rankled a lot of people -- including some very prominent Jewish people.  But the reality of the situation is that she, like everyone else, has a right to free speech and to their own opinions -- even if someone who has a lot of money and is Jewish is offended by it.  We can have that debate all day long and frankly that Bill Ackman and others went after her on that basis is both unsurprising and actually rather damaging overall because the question here is quite-clearly one of her character and intellectual capacity, not her opinions.

Thus the basic problem: Gay was hired despite the character issue with her own work and it was either undiscovered because people were uncurious or worse, they at least suspected she had done so and let it go anyway.  That's not one person, nor is it a mark of being "Anti-Semitic"; it is much larger in that it is an indictment of an entire industry, specifically higher education that has demonstrated it is handling out unearned credentials and promoting persons who lack merit to hold the positions they have.

Worse, by Harvard's actions they've gone much further -- they've underwritten the plagiarism that Gay apparently engaged in throughout her academic writing, not just once or twice but all over the place.  It belies belief that nobody at Harvard -- or elsewhere -- knew about it over such a period of time and study.  If in fact it was truly undiscovered then its even worse because now we have entire thesis review boards who aren't competent to sit in judgment during said thesis defense, or worse, passed on her work knowing what she had done and thus gave license to it.

That upon this discovery Gay was not immediately subject to the very same scrutiny and sanction that any other student would be expected to suffer -- and still isn't being held to account, as it appears she will remain on the faculty and continue to be paid even as it is now alleged that it was not one instance of plagiarism but rather many instances riven through her entire body of academic work -- is unconscionable.

That it took a public comment that some rich people found rude before this was brought forward into the public is even worse in that it draws a reasonable implication that putting unqualified people in positions is just fine provided they continue to parrot whatever opinions and public policy positions certain rich people want to have put forward and, in many cases as we saw over the last three years, enforced.

Can her original admission be objectively justified or does the issue go back even further than we now have in evidence?

I don't know that answer either -- but what I do know is that every degree Harvard has issued at least from 1998 forward when she got her PhD cannot be reasonably believed to have been honestly earned, and thus until Harvard can prove at what point this practice became tolerated and give us a hard cut-off date we must presume it goes back even further than that.

It would appear the Trustees and other members of the faculty do not appreciate that essentially two decades of Harvard degrees are now reasonably considered worthless by anyone in industry or anywhere else -- and that on a forward basis nobody can trust the process of education there.  Does that not rise to an existential threat in that it impugns the value of every credential issued by Harvard and thus the very existence of the institution?

The saddest element of all is that I don't expect any of these institutions to answer for any of this fiasco because they don't think they have to.  They believe they can issue pieces of paper and pay people nearly a million dollars a year when in fact by the evidence rank violations of academic standards took place and thus said credentials -- and following from that said salaries -- were in fact unearned as the intellectual chops and character represented by same are absent.

And that, perhaps, is the worst of it, especially considering the con jobs run on the public through the last two decades in our economy, markets and other professions, including, of course, the last three years in matters of public policy -- and the number of people involved in all of it who have wrapped themselves in Harvard credentials. PLAGIARISM FILES III

It’s not about Harvard; it’s about everything...
[the Khazar Bolsheviks & their useful idiots befoul
with their long march through the institutions.]

Quaker Guns
and the chickensh*t army

Claudine Gay is Anthony Fauci.

One of the most common responses I get is I don’t care about this topic: about Israel and Gaza, about California, about Harvard and stupid Claudine Gay. What’s the point? Why write about that one thing?

My answer is almost always the same, which is that all the crises are the same crisis. Over and over and over, the structures and stories are familiar, the lessons are broadly applicable, and the pathetic narrative policing from the “mainstream” is the same.

So if you don’t care about the thing itself, take the story of Claudine Gay’s semi-resignation — she’s stepping down from the Harvard presidency and returning to the Harvard faculty with life tenure and a $900,000ish annual salary, which is quite a prize for failure — as a bigger story about the way controversy works in 21st-century America. Gay’s departing op-ed in the New York Times is word-for-word what you would expect it to be, and tell me this doesn’t sound exactly like the bullshit you’ve been reading for years about the pandemic:

As I depart, I must offer a few words of warning. The campaign against me was about more than one university and one leader. This was merely a single skirmish in a broader war to unravel public faith in pillars of American society. Campaigns of this kind often start with attacks on education and expertise, because these are the tools that best equip communities to see through propaganda. But such campaigns don’t end there. Trusted institutions of all types — from public health agencies to news organizations — will continue to fall victim to coordinated attempts to undermine their legitimacy and ruin their leaders’ credibility. For the opportunists driving cynicism about our institutions, no single victory or toppled leader exhausts their zeal.

Claudine Gay’s attack on her critics is the attack on the authors of the Great Barrington Declaration: they’re attacking expertise, they’re trying to undermine trust, they’re trying to destroy the legitimacy of our institutions. It’s The Counterattack, elite class battle drill 1A, and you see it all day, every day. “Your highness, the peasants are revolting!” Take the stupid deflections one by one:

“This was merely a single skirmish in a broader war to unravel public faith in pillars of American society.” The argument — the factually correct argument — was that Harvard was led by a mediocre scholar with a dismal record of research and publication, which means that the attempt to replace a poor leader was an attempt to restore public faith in a pillar of American society. Harvard should be led by a formidable public intellectual. Claudine Gay isn’t that, and never was.

Again, Claudine Gay isn’t the point. Another undeservedly powerful mediocrity famously said that “attacks on me are attacks on science.”

It wasn’t true in that case, and it isn’t true in this case. Attacks on Claudine Gay aren’t an attack on the pillars of American society, and I just had to stop typing for a moment to clear a short fit of laughter. The balls on this woman.

Critics: You’ve only published eleven papers over the course of your entire career, and many appear to contain plagiarized passages.

Gay: Ohhhhh, you’re attacking THE PILLARS OF AMERICAN SOCIETY.

Get stuffed, dork.

Harvard will now be led by its longtime provost and new interim president, Alan Garber, who has an MD and a PhD. The most recent version of his academic c.v. that I can find online is a few days more than eleven years old, and it’s a 20-page recitation of a couple-hundred papers and book chapters plus a long list of professional activities and editorial positions at important scholarly journals. Here were the last ten papers listed on his c.v. more than a decade ago, and note that he was a co-author with people like John Ioannidis and Jay Bhattacharya:

So one of our most important research universities was led by a president who was a mediocre and little-published scholar, and will now be led for a while by someone who is actually and provably a scholar of considerable substance. Quick: does this change seem likely to “unravel public faith in pillars of American society,” or to re-establish some of that faith?

Let’s go on: “Campaigns of this kind often start with attacks on education and expertise, because these are the tools that best equip communities to see through propaganda.”

The attack on Claudine Gay was a defense of education and expertise, noting — for example — that her thin body of published work borrowed from other highly accomplished scholars. Gay’s critics quoted experts, respectfully, at length and often, because accomplished scholars regarded her as a poor scholar. To call this defense of authentic expertise an attack on expertise is sociopathically shameless.

“Trusted institutions of all types — from public health agencies to news organizations — will continue to fall victim to coordinated attempts to undermine their legitimacy and ruin their leaders’ credibility.”

Claudine Gay ruined her credibility, and the attempt to force her to resign as the president of Harvard was a demand that a trusted institution be run by a leader who merits trust and respect. The effort against Claudine Gay was an act of cultural conservation and restoration — a building up, not a tearing down. It didn’t undermine; it strengthened and reinforced.

So. In every regard, Claudine Gay’s op-ed flips the action upside-down: She responds to people who are fighting for institutional integrity and respect for real expertise by accusing them of attacking institutional integrity and expertise. You have seen this many times.

You will see this many more times.

What’s especially interesting about the moment, given its tremendous familiarity, is that all of the usual threats and attacks accomplished precisely nothing at all. Christopher Rufo, Chris Brunet, Bill Ackman, et al are being smeared with all of the accustomed epithets and malicious fake-analysis about their dark and horrible real agenda.

Hunt around social media if you feel the need to find more discussion about Claudine Gay’s critics being mean anti-intellectual racists, because my patience for swimming in sewage pumped in from stupid people is running out. And see the Charles Blow thing, for example, if you must.

The cultural armies gathered around our mediocre elites appear to be well-armed for battle in the same sense that the Confederates were well-equipped to keep McClellan from striking deep into Northern Virginia. Like all the scouts kept saying, the enemy just had so much heavy artillery.

In a conflict over culture and institutional integrity, the usual suspects used all of the familiar weapons.

Critics demanded that Claudine Gay resign.

Then the familiar culture war army rushed to the battlefield to declare that Claudine Gay was a brilliant scholar being attacked by mean dumb racists who hate everything and are mean and stupid.

Then the critics just kept going.

Then Claudine Gay resigned.

That’s it. All the caterwauling and subject-changing and burden-shifting and deflection and media noise did nothing, full stop.

It’s not about Harvard; it’s about everything. Take that sequence and keep going. (read more)

Today, Harvard is a cesspool of anti-Americanism. Tragically, Harvard is far from alone in moving into the depths of ideological barbarism. They are doing so in near perfect alignment with many other once-esteemed American academic, political, societal, and financial institutions.

Harvard is in the news most frequently today not for some semblance of academic achievement and excellence, but as a college that serves as a bastion and incubator for the evil ideologies of marxism and antisemitism.

Its academic roster is a mixed bag, at best. Continually degraded with decades of affirmative action policies, coupled with a more recent Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) ineptitude multiplier effect, it’s clear that Harvard no longer serves as an elite training center for the best and brightest, nor is it even a net positive for American society.

Its newly inaugurated president, Claudine Gay, is the perfect representative of Harvard’s decline and its preference for DEI over merit. She somehow became president of the university despite having almost zero notable accomplishments to her name, and a microscopic publishing footprint — she has never published a book and only has a handful of articles to her name — as a career academic. And despite her hypocrisy on speech and recently discovered rampant plagiarism, Harvard’s governing board voted unanimously to keep her job intact.

It is with a heavy heart but a deep love for Harvard that I write to share that I will be stepping down as president. This is not a decision I came to easily. Indeed, it has been difficult beyond words because I have looked forward to working with so many of you to advance the commitment to academic excellence that has propelled this great university across centuries. But, after consultation with members of the Corporation, it has become clear that it is in the best interests of Harvard for me to resign so that our community can navigate this moment of extraordinary challenge with a focus on the institution rather than any individual.

It is a singular honor to be a member of this university, which has been my home and my inspiration for most of my professional career. My deep sense of connection to Harvard and its people has made it all the more painful to witness the tensions and divisions that have riven our community in recent months, weakening the bonds of trust and reciprocity that should be our sources of strength and support in times of crisis. Amidst all of this, it has been distressing to have doubt cast on my commitments to confronting hate and to upholding scholarly rigor—two bedrock values that are fundamental to who I am—and frightening to be subjected to personal attacks and threats fueled by racial animus.

I believe in the people of Harvard because I see in you the possibility and the promise of a better future. These last weeks have helped make clear the work we need to do to build that future—to combat bias and hate in all its forms, to create a learning environment in which we respect each other’s dignity and treat one another with compassion, and to affirm our enduring commitment to open inquiry and free expression in the pursuit of truth. I believe we have within us all that we need to heal from this period of tension and division and to emerge stronger. I had hoped with all my heart to lead us on that journey, in partnership with all of you. As I now return to the faculty, and to the scholarship and teaching that are the lifeblood of what we do, I pledge to continue working alongside you to build the community we all deserve.

When I became president, I considered myself particularly blessed by the opportunity to serve people from around the world who saw in my presidency a vision of Harvard that affirmed their sense of belonging—their sense that Harvard welcomes people of talent and promise, from every background imaginable, to learn from and grow with one another. To all of you, please know that those doors remain open, and Harvard will be stronger and better because they do.

As we welcome a new year and a new semester, I hope we can all look forward to brighter days. Sad as I am to be sending this message, my hopes for Harvard remain undimmed. When my brief presidency is remembered, I hope it will be seen as a moment of reawakening to the importance of striving to find our common humanity—and of not allowing rancor and vituperation to undermine the vital process of education. I trust we will all find ways, in this time of intense challenge and controversy, to recommit ourselves to the excellence, the openness, and the independence that are crucial to what our university stands for—and to our capacity to serve the world.

Sincerely,

Claudine Gay

KHAZAR'S RULES-BASED-ORDER MEETS REALITY

How Yemen Changed Everything

In a single move, Yemen's Ansarallah has checkmated the west and its rules-based order.

Whether invented in northern India, eastern China or Central Asia – from Persia to Turkestan – chess is an Asian game. In chess, there always comes a time when a simple pawn is able to upset the whole chessboard, usually via a move in the back rank whose effect simply cannot be calculated.

Yes, a pawn can impose a seismic checkmate. That’s where we are, geopolitically, right now.

The cascading effects of a single move on the chessboard – Yemen’s Ansarallah stunning and carefully targeted blockade of the Red Sea – reach way beyond global shipping, supply chains, and The War of Economic Corridors. Not to mention the reduction of the much lauded US Navy force projection to irrelevancy.

Yemen’s resistance movement, Ansarallah, has made it very clear that any Israel-affiliated or Israel-destined vessel will be intercepted. While the west bristles at this, and imagines itself a target, the rest of the world fully understands that all other shipping is free to pass. Russian tankers – as well as Chinese, Iranian, and Global South ships – continue to move undisturbed across the Bab al-Mandeb (narrowest point: 33 km) and the Red Sea.

Only the Hegemon is disturbed by this challenge to its ‘rules-based order.’ It is outraged that western vessels delivering energy or goods to law-breaking Israel can be impeded, and that the supply chain has been severed and plunged into deep crisis. The pinpointed target is the Israeli economy, which is already bleeding heavily. A single Yemeni move proves to be more efficient than a torrent of imperial sanctions.

It is the tantalizing possibility of this single move turning into a paradigm shift – with no return – that is adding to the Hegemon’s apoplexy. Especially because imperial humiliation is deeply embedded in the paradigm shift.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the record, is now sending an unmistakable message: Forget the Suez Canal. The way to go is the Northern Sea Route – which the Chinese, in the framework of the Russia-China strategic partnership, call the Arctic Silk Road.

shiping routes
Map of North-East and North-West Passage shipping routes

For the dumbfounded Europeans, the Russians have detailed three options: First, sail 15,000 miles around the Cap of Good Hope. Second, use Russia’s cheaper and faster Northern Sea Route. Third, send the cargo via Russian Railways.

Rosatom, which oversees the Northern Sea Route, has emphasized that non-ice-class ships are now able to sail throughout summer and autumn, and year-round navigation will soon be possible with the help of a fleet of nuclear icebreakers.

All that as direct consequences of the single Yemeni move. What next? Yemen entering BRICS+ at the summit in Kazan in late 2024, under the Russian presidency?

The new architecture will be framed in West Asia

The US-led Armada put together for Operation Genocide Protection, which collapsed even before birth, may have been set up to “warn Iran,” apart from giving Ansarallah a scare. Just as the Houthis, Tehran is hardly intimidated because, as West Asia analyst ace Alastair Crooke succinctly put it: “Sykes-Picot is dead.”

This is a quantum shift on the chessboard. It means West Asian powers will frame the new regional architecture from now on, not US Navy “projection.”

That carries an ineffable corollary: those eleven US aircraft carrier task forces, for all practical purposes, are essentially worthless.

Everyone across West Asia is well aware that Ansarallah’s missiles are capable of hitting Saudi and Emirati oil fields, and knocking them out of commission. So it is little wonder that Riyadh and Abu Dhabi would never accept becoming part of a US-led maritime force to challenge the Yemeni resistance.

Add to it the role of underwater drones now in the possession of Russia and Iran. Think of fifty of these aimed at a US aircraft carrier: it has no defense. While the Americans still have very advanced submarines, they cannot keep the Bab al-Mandeb and Red Sea open to western operators.

On the energy front, Moscow and Tehran don’t even need to think – at least not yet – about using the “nuclear” option or cutting off potentially at least 25 percent, and up, of the world oil supply. As one Persian Gulf analyst succinctly describes it, “that would irretrievably implode the international financial system.”

For those still determined to support the genocide in Gaza there have been warnings. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has mentioned it explicitly. Tehran has already called for a total oil and gas embargo against nations that support Israel.

A total naval blockade of Israel, meticulously engineered, remains a distinct possibility. Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander Hossein Salami said Israel may “soon face the closure of the Mediterranean Sea, the Strait of Gibraltar, and other waterways.”

Keep in mind we’re not yet even talking about a possible blockade of the Strait of Hormuz; we’re still on Red Sea/Bab al-Mandeb.

Because if the Straussian neo-cons in the Beltway get really unhinged by the paradigm shift and act in desperation to “teach a lesson” to Iran, a chokepoint Hormuz-Bab al-Mandeb combo blockade might skyrocket the price of oil to at least $500 a barrel, triggering the implosion of the $618 trillion derivatives market and crashing the entire international banking system.

The paper tiger is in a jam

Mao Zedong was right after all: the US may be in fact a paper tiger. Putin, though, is way more careful, cold, and calculating. With this Russian president, it’s all about an asymmetric response, exactly when no one is expecting it.

That brings us to the prime working hypothesis perhaps capable of explaining the shadow play masking the single Ansarallah move on the chessboard.

When Pulitzer-winning investigative journalist Sy (Seymour) Hersh proved how Team Biden blew up the Nord Stream pipelines, there was no Russian response to what was, in effect, an act of terrorism against Gazprom, against Germany, against the EU, and against a bunch of European companies. Yet Yemen, now, with a simple blockade, turns global shipping upside down.

So what is more vulnerable? The physical networks of global energy supply (Pipelineistan) or the Thalassocracy, states that derive their power from naval supremacy?

Russia privileges Pipelineistan: see, for instance, the Nord Streams and Power of Siberia 1 and 2. But the US, the Hegemon, always relied on its thalassocratic power, heir to “Britannia rules the waves.”

Well, not anymore. And, surprisingly, getting there did not even entail the “nuclear” option, the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which Washington games and scaremongers like crazy.

Of course we won’t have a smoking gun. But it’s a fascinating proposition that the single Yemeni move may have been coordinated at the highest level between three BRICS members – Russia, China, and Iran, the neocon new “axis of evil” – plus other two BRICS+, energy powerhouses Saudi Arabia and the UAE. As in, “if you do it, we’ve got your back”.

None of that, of course, detracts from Yemeni purity: their defense of Palestine is a sacred duty.

Western imperialism and then turbo-capitalism have always been obsessed with gobbling up Yemen, a process that Isa Blumi, in his splendid book Destroying Yemen, described as “necessarily stripping Yemenis of their historic role as the economic, cultural, spiritual, and political engine for much of the Indian Ocean world.”

Yemen, though, is unconquerable and, true to a local proverb, “deadly” (Yemen Fataakah). As part of the Axis of Resistance, Yemen’s Ansarallah is now a key actor in a complex Eurasia-wide drama that redefines Heartland connectivity; and alongside China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the India-Iran-Russia-led International North-South Transportation Corridor (INSTC), and Russia’s new Northern Sea Route, also includes control over strategic chokepoints around the Mediterranean Seas and the Arabian Peninsula.

This is another trade connectivity paradigm entirely, smashing to bits western colonial and neocolonial control of Afro-Eurasia. So yes, BRICS+ supports Yemen, who with a single move has presented Pax Americana with The Mother of All Geopolitical Jams. (read more)

So how about a New Year’s Resolution

Oh, So You Want A Civil War?

Karl Denninger

I've written about this many times; no, you don't.

Just taking a historical perspective the facts are very clear: For every George Washington you get about ten Adolf Hitlers, more or less.  If you think things can't get worse than today yes they can.  Think about Bosnia, as just one example.  European and inhabited since medieval times, nice climate (roughly Italy, for comparison) and with direct access to the Adriatic Sea (although not a lot and Montenegro and Croatia actually are the "owners" of most, there is some.)

How'd that all work out for them?  Not well, to put it mildly.

Its common to blow off one's mouth in such a regard, but consider this: The check you write you might be asked to cash, and if you are and don't cash it you die -- and so do, in all probability, everyone else in your family line.  Does that sober you up a bit?  It should; exactly that happened right here in America in the 1860s, remember?

A better question is "do you really mean it?" when it comes to your "beliefs" in the political and social sphere?

I argue you don't and the reason I argue that is that if you did you could take entirely-lawful and peaceful actions which do not blow things up and kill others, but do absolutely alter the course of political activity and ultimately are no worse in terms of impact on you and yours than an actual war would be, but without the war part.

People talk about "going Galt" but that's only part of it.  As I've pointed out before and was amplified by a commentator on the forum, there's much more to it.  I have engaged in this in the past within my own family and other former associates and were people to take this position on a mass basis and apply it across the board serious change could be enacted without a single shot, arson or other act of unlawful conduct being undertaken.

What am I talking about?

Absolute shunning, extending to all derivatives of the person shunned.  Yes, this includes your own bloodline.

Many years ago when my daughter was a toddler I did exactly this.  In the middle of a holiday dinner my father went down a bridge too far.  He was not drunk; we did have a single adult beverage each, but none of us were intoxicated.  He proceeded to tell me (as he had before) that he was entitled to take actions politically that would, with certainly, screw his granddaughter and, as I pointed out to him he knew it because he was not a stupid man -- in fact, he was a CPA and thus fully understood that you can't spend a single dollar twice.

I got up from the table, collected my daughter and our things and we left to drive back home, 4-1/2 hours.  I did not speak to him or anyone else in the family for several years.

Too much?  I don't think so -- not even today.  He threatened to by his advocacy and vote damage his own granddaughter and my progeny and it was not a mistake -- it was a statement of both intent and was issued with both knowledge of the expected outcome and malice.

Why would anyone sit for that or excuse it?  If you do then you are also taking up that position and permitting it to move forward without consequence; that's your kid being screwed and yes, the screwing is indirect and 20 years into the future but it is as certain if that policy set goes forward as night follows day.  If said person will not change their position and actions you either consent to it by staying or you refuse by cutting ties -- period.  It was not a matter of ignorance in this case since he was skilled in accounting and knew damn well what he was doing.

This was not the only time.  I have in the past cut off all contact with people who have done other seriously-repugnant things.  Its not negotiable; I refuse to countenance it and I don't care what the excuse is.  Either hold to a set of standards or admit you have none.

Now think about this:

All those "rich people" who you think do such terrible things you disagree with (e.g. climate scam, covid mandates, etc.) all get all their stuff via the ordinary people who you engage in commerce with on a voluntary basis.  Those ordinary people all sit in the same pew with you on Sunday.  Those ordinary people drink in the same bar and you continue to drink there when one of them walks in.  Your son or daughter works for one of them.  Your friend does too.

Your physician almost-certainly, for example, either supported the mandates whether masking, closing schools and business in many cases extending to demanding the shots or at least went along with it.

Why don't you start calling all those people "asshole!" and walking away?  Do you think those ordinary folks would keep providing goods and services to those who will and do actively screw you if you made their life fucking miserable and alone, never mind refusing to associate with them and spend money on anything they were involved with?

For how long would they continue that if you and even ten percent of your friends and associates did that and extended it to all of their family and those who continued to associate with them?

How many of them could continue in business if that was the decision they had to make and how many of them would continue to abuse you indirectly all the way into bankruptcy court?

You know damn well this would stop all of that crap within hours.  It is both entirely legal and non-violent.  Yes, it will inconvenience you, and yes, it means cutting people out of your life -- maybe even your own kin, particularly if they will not repent including apologizing and changing their behavior on a forward and permanent basis.  So what?  Is this better or worse, easier or harder than continuing on the path we're on which is leading to and in fact already has to a significant degree caused the destruction of a reasonable standard of living and much violence, and if it is not stopped is likely to lead directly to widespread civil conflict and lawlessness?

Do you want our nation to go there?  If you believe it can't you are sadly mistaken; it has in many other nations and it both can and on our current path will occur here.

So how about a New Years' Resolution:

I will set standards for what is acceptable, and "acceptable" will not include anything that I know or have every reason to believe will screw me or my family members, most-particularly my children and grandchildren whether the action is direct or indirect by that person's support of another who is engaged in the screwing.  This includes things like "de-carbonization" of the economy which would result in us having literally none of modern life.  It includes things like allowing minors to have their dicks chopped off or be prescribed medication that interferes with ordinary hormonal puberty and development for other than precocial presentation (a valid medical reason for said drugs, over a short period of time until said ordinary time comes.)  It includes allowing "gay flags and similar" in schools, boys in girls sports and similar.  It includes allowing any association or conduct related to mandates such as "masks" and "shots."  It further includes any tolerance or support of "migrants" and any housing, education, health care, feeding or otherwise of said people -- that is, anything but immediate expulsion back to where they came from.

If a person advocates, supports, profits from, votes for or allows any such unacceptable conduct they and their entire line who does not vociferously protest and act to counter it is cut off 100%.  No time will be spent, no money will be spent, no recognition of said person whatsoever will occur.  They become no more significant than a rock on the side of the road; to be avoided while driving so you don't wreck your car but otherwise shunned and ignored.  If said person would be in your will or a revocable trust you change it and tell them why.  If said person runs a business and you might want to do business with them you don't and you tell them why.  If said person wants you to work for them you refuse and you tell them why.

In short you take your standards, you take a stand and you enforce it through entirely peaceful and lawful means.

Yes, that includes your direct family and their associates along with the various businesses you buy everyday things from -- such as the local tavern, restaurant or similar.

Difficult?

Well sure it is.  Telling someone to fuck off when it will inconvenience you, maybe cost you a bit more money or even worse, its a blood relative such as a parent or adult child, group of them, or a lover is difficult.  I understand that. But let's look at perspective here because humans are supposed to be able to look forward; it is one of the things that differentiates human beings from lower animals.

How difficult will it be if your electricity costs $0.50 or $1.00/kWh in ten or so years because you supported and allowed the "de-carboning" of our nation?  We were told that this would be cheaper but that's a lie and you can prove it now because California has tried to go down that road and their power costs are higher rather than lower.  What happens if you can't pay for the power to heat your home and at the same time eat?

How about Obamacare?  We were told it would radically reduce your cost of medical care.  What actually happened?  Now a couple in their 50s is quoted over $2,000 a month for effectively-worthless "insurance" that has a $10,000/yr deductible if you actually use it unless you make very little money, where before that was put into place you could buy two months of cover for under half the price and it had little or no deductible!  What happens if you actually get sick after allowing that crap to go on?  You're quite-possibly bankrupt and in in the street!

Tell me again why you would associate with anyone, family or business, that supports that garbage or worse, profits from it and allows it to continue?  Do you like being financially raped up the ass every single day?  Why would you associate with someone who wishes to and is financially raping you?  Do you have to be screwed blind in this way and if and when you are will you even shun your family members and business owners then?

How about those who did outrageous things during the pandemic?  You know, like supporting you being excluded from society if you wouldn't take shots we now know don't work, being fired or even held down and forced or arrested?  Did you exclude all of them to the point that if they walk into a bar today you get up and walk out?  I still do, I've repeatedly reminded people of that fact when asked and always will.  Why?  How many of those people have come up to you and offered an unconditional apology, including a public statement just as was their advocacy that they were wrong?  Zero, in my experience and it has been more than two years since they, and we, all know they were wrong across the board.  Yet many of you will still sit and drink in that bar with them!

Or how about right now with the border?  Over $500 billion, one quarter of the last year's federal deficit, in federal cost alone for a bunch of people who have exactly zero legal right to be here, and every penny of it is a part of inflation which screws you directly and, as cities are discovering, screws everyone in them because money cannot be spent twice.  This is easily more than a trillion a year because our government is allowing an invasion of our nation and we simply don't have it.  Could this be continued for even one day if it was made clear that it will stop now or every lawmaker who doesn't put a stop to it can't so much as go to church or buy groceries without they and all of their families and business associates being shunned?  It is not illegal to refuse to associate with anyone and everyone, including on a derivative basis, who won't put an end to this crap.

Folks if you won't enforce reasonable standards that, if not enforced, will screw you or your children then you wildly increase the risk that when the privation occurs the outcome will be severe, civilization-rending violence and if we get that and you refused to shun people you will be the reason because you refused, out of your own hubris and convenienceto stand for what you know damn well is right and exclude anyone and everyone who supports screwing you.

Spare me your siren songs of "compassion"; they are no such thing.

They're nothing more than demanding that your life be convenient at the expense of others, including those who you claim to love and care about when in fact you do not; you only care about your convenience and as soon as that is impacted you don't give a damn about anyone else.

2024 is the year where you can, and should, change that.

And if you won't?

Don't think I'd lift a finger, say much less a rifle, to stop the thugs if you get shoved into a gas chamber, crematorium or are dispossessed of all you have and freeze or starve to death because I most-certainly will not -- and I will put that marker on the table right now.  (read more)
